Nice Week: Rocking Saint Paul, Crayfish, Art Everywhere, and Free Helmets.
The more we look for interesting stuff to do in the Twin Cities, the more we realize how little we once knew. This is one great place to live, and summer is the time to get out there and do as much as you can do.
This week we have our last Nice Nite (out with a bang), free happenings at The Walker, mouth-watering action at The Bachelor Farmer, a dog fest in Saint Paul, Art Fairs all over the place, free green Nice Ride helmets for you and your friends, free African folk music in the Park, and that's.. just... scratching... the... surface.
-
Nice Nites have been a ton of fun this year, and this Friday's finale is going to be a big one. We're choosing to finish off in downtown Saint Paul, across from Amsterdam Bar and Hall. Free music, great food, deals on New Belgium beers, and we'll be doing our last member raffle for Cirque du Soleil tickets and Just BARE grill sets.
-
It's Free First Saturdays at The Walker. And as part of that, the Walker is putting on their Open Fields series in and around the Sculpture Garden. Find out what a difference LARPing makes. Find out what LARPing is in the first place.
-
Ever heard of a Kraftskiva? No, we hadn't either. Turns out it's a traditional Nordic festival featuring the glorious consumption of crayfish. Hosted by The Bachelor Farmer. Entry is free.
-
We admit, we're totally biased towards outdoor activities. Coz let's just say there will plenty of time later in the calendar year for the great indoors. One of our favorites is the Uptown Art Fair. Love it.
-
Come to think of it, you could turn this weekend into one gigantic, rolling art smorgasbord. Connect the Uptown event with the Loring Park Art Festival.
-
And finally, the Powderhorn Art Fair. Twin cities, triplet art fairs. Collect the set.
-
They say it's the dog days of summer. To us, any day of summer is good, dog or not. In any case, try out the Paws On Grand event in Saint Paul. There's something about the presence of dogs that makes everything more relaxed and Sunday-ish.
-
Like your head? Have friends with similarly like-able heads? Then come one come all to the Red Stag Supperclub Block Party. Not only good in its own right (music, food, general festivity) we'll also be there giving away free bike helmets.
-
When do you get to see a world famous South African folk musician outdoors in Minneapolis for free? This Monday night, actually, in Loring Park.
The response to these weekly emails has been great... we'll be pushing them out to you 'til the (sob!) end of the season. Feel free to pass them along to friends.
